To address increase demand for clean drinking water in Chesapeake, the City constructed a new water treatment plant in the western part of the City. The state-of-the-art facility provides drinking water to residents and businesses in the Western Branch and Southern areas.
Project Details
Construction of multiple buildings, including Administration Buildings, Water Treatment Buildings, Effluent Aeration Building, sludge thickener, plant waste basin, and effluent pump station. Generator/Switchgear Building and surge tank area; propane storage tanks facility; rapid mix area; flocculation basin area; membrane basins and associated accessories; chemical storage and feed facilities; manganese removal contactors and accessories; disinfection contact pipeline; finished water storage tank; contactor backwash and finished water pump station; miscellaneous site grading, pile foundation, site piping and site electrical work.
