MEB has completed several projects at the G. Robert House WTP, including this large expansion and renovation project. The expansion provided required upgrades to all facility components to ensure clean drinking water for City of Suffolk residents and businesses.

Project Details

The project consists of the following major elements: Relocate the existing emergency power generator from the water plant site to the Reids Ferry Production Well site and provide new diesel fuel storage and electrical equipment as necessary to connect the generator to the existing well pump drive equipment. Provide new Crittenden Production Well facilities to permit an existing well casing, installed as part of a separate construction contract, to be placed into services as a production well under this contract. The new well facilities to be provided under this contract include a new well house, well pump, piping, and valves, electrical and I&C equipment, and a new diesel powered standby power generator with associated diesel fuel storage facility.  The production capacity of the new well facilities will be 4.5mgd. Provide a new EDR Membrane/Chemical/Maintenance Building sized to provide up to 6.25mgd. Provide a new pre-stressed concrete finished water storage tank with capacity of 3.0MG. Provide a new membrane concentrate pump station sized to equalize and pump all membrane concentrate/waste flow. Provide a new pre-fabricated metal Maintenance Storage Building. Provide a new adjustable speed drive for the existing onsite Fluoride Well. Provide new site electrical facilities, including new outdoor switchgear equipment and associated enclosure to serve the entire water plant, new MCC’s for the EDR Membrane/Chemical/Maintenance Building, two new diesel powered generators and associated diesel fuel storage facilities for the WTP site, and new duct banks to connect the existing electrical equipment located throughout the site. Provide upgrades to the existing instrumentation and control system to allow the addition of new treatment process equipment at the WTP.
